蟾蜍山自古位處交通、貿易要道，瑠公圳闢建流經山腳下，提供重要水源。
胡開仁先生任職台灣省農業試驗所期間，研究洋菇菌種培養及種植有成，繼而全面推廣，使台灣由不產洋菇之處躍升為世界生產外銷洋菇最多之地區。
胡開仁先生定居蟾蜍山農業試驗所宿舍終老，隨著臺北市發展，蟾蜍山成為外省榮民、閩南、客家、原住民等的落腳處，充滿多樣化的族群共生型態。

The Father of Agaricus bisporus in Taiwan and Toad Mountain.
Toad Mount used to be a vital transportation and trade route, with the Liu Gong Channel being built to flow through the foot of the mountain, providing important water resources. During his tenure at the Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute (MOA), Mr. Kai-Zen Hu successfully researched Agaricus bisporus strains' cultivation and cultivation methods, leading to widespread adoption. This transformation elevated Taiwan from a place where Agaricus bisporus are not grown to a place where the world's leading exporter of Agaricus bisporus. Mr. Kai-Zen Hu settled in the dormitories of the Toad Mountain MOA and spent his final years there. As Taipei City developed, Toad Mountain became a settlement for veterans from Mainlanders, Hokkien, Hakka, and Indigenous people, fostering a diverse and harmonious coexistence of different ethnicities. For students interested in learning about the development of Taiwanese Agaricus bisporus and the culture of Toad Mountain, we welcome you to participate in this general education lecture organized by South Side College.
講者充分的解說了蟾蜍山的發展背景以及與本校的關聯。
逐一講解了當時鄰近地區例如:瑠公圳、農業試驗所、蠶業改良場、美軍13航空隊、等發展狀況，
再結合講者父親「胡開仁」先生對於西洋菌(洋菇)培育的貢獻。
隨著台北市發展，蟾蜍山成為外省榮民、閩南、客家與原住民的絡角處，充滿多樣化的族群共生型態。
之後農試所宿舍轉移給本校，成為歷史軌跡之一。
