The "Dancing Fine Arts" series is born from MAD Theater's creative breakthrough—"Bringing Dance into Art Museums." Master choreographer Shih Chi-Chih, Taiwan's pioneer cross-disciplinary artist blending canvas art and choreography, translates three iconic art movements into electrifying physical movements. Having toured internationally across India's Khajuraho Dance Festival, Canada Arts Festivals, and Korea's Busan International Dance Festival, this curated trilogy is now live on campus!

🎭 Meet the Troupe: MAD Theater (極至體能舞蹈團)

Founded in 1997, MAD Theater is Central Taiwan's first professional modern dance company. Artistic Director Shih Chi-Chih is renowned as Taiwan's very first cross-genre choreographer with a professional fine arts background—hailed by media as "The Choreographer Who Paints with the Human Body." By fusing striking visual art installations with expressive physical choreography, MAD Theater weaves intricate complexity with minimalist elegance.

Over its 29-year history, the troupe has created 35+ original full-length productions and performed over 1,700 shows across the globe—spanning the USA, Canada, France, Australia, China, Malaysia, India, and throughout Taiwan. Their creative range covers pure physical exploration, site-specific environmental dance, intergenerational art, and family dance theater, continuously pushing the boundaries of contemporary performing arts.
