What is media? Fifteen years ago, when I entered university, the most common answers were newspapers and television. Ten years ago, when I became a journalist, people said the Facebook era had arrived.
But today, I find myself scrolling through social media sites, watching YouTube, and sharing random videos with friends. While mindlessly consuming content, I still worry about the gradual disappearance of traditional, serious news, as lighter texts and visuals dominate the mainstream.
As influencers rise and fall, many previously overlooked issues have gained visibility. At the same time, we are facing a world that is increasingly divided.
So, how can we be responsible and discerning media consumers in this era? Let’s explore this question together.
