The Vocal Band transforms the human voice into the sound of an entire band, blending contemporary a cappella with jazz, pop, and cross-genre innovation.

For over a decade, the Taiwan International Vocal Arts Festival has brought leading international vocal artists to Taiwan, building a global platform for contemporary a cappella and inspiring a new wave of vocal music.

In 2026, continuing its spirit of “Embracing Eastern Culture, Connecting with the World,” the festival welcomes Spiderhorse from the USA as competition judges and featured performers at International Vocal Band Night.

Get ready for a bold new sound—where voices become music, and music breaks boundaries.

About Spider horse

Based out of New York City, SPIDERHORSE is a multi-instrumentalist beatboxing duo comprised of Chris Celiz and Gene Shinozaki. Renowned for their captivating performances, they seamlessly blend intricate rhythms with melodic elements, continually pushing the boundaries of vocal
artistry.
Their innovative approach has earned them top honors at prestigious competitions, including 1st place at the 2023 Vokal Total International A Cappella Competition in Austria, the 2019 Varsity Vocals A Cappella Open hosted at Carnegie Hall, the 2018 Grand Beatbox Battle in Switzerland, the
2018 Beatbox Battle World Championships in Germany, and the American Beatbox Championships in both 2015, 2016.
SPIDERHORSE has showcased their talents at notable events such as “SXSW” in Dallas,Texas, "Dopamine Land" Rhythm Studio in Washington D.C., "Bzzz" at The Joyce Theater in New York, "SPIDERHORSE & FRIENDS" in Yokohama, Japan (independently produced headline show) and the
"Beat X Festival" in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan, solidifying their status as trailblazers in the global beatboxing community.

Mission: Making Music a Part of Life

Goal: Realizing everyone's choral dream

In 2000, a group of dedicated and passionate choral lovers came together to realize their dream. They overcame every difficulty, pooling funds to establish the Taipei City New Choral Cultural and Arts Foundation - Taiwan Choral Music Center (TCMC), with the goal of promoting choral music from Taiwan to the world.

TCMC is dedicated to the promotion and development of three key areas: Modern A Cappella, Public-Welfare & Educational Initiatives, and New Choral Arts. Guided by the principles of "Innovation, Sharing, and Service," TCMC uses diverse artistic expressions to create a new choral movement in society, building a unique environment that makes music a part of daily life for everyone in Taiwan.

Through events like "Spring Sing" and the "Taiwan International Vocal Festival," as well as other innovative choral performances, TCMC has introduced new ideas to Taiwan's a cappella and choral scenes. These efforts have not only elevated domestic vocal groups but have also attracted numerous outstanding international teams, connecting Taiwan with global choral trends. TCMC has become a vital platform for making choral music a part of everyday life and keeping Taiwan in sync with the world.
