[C Area] Movies and Gender Issues

Course Objective

This course aims to understand and discuss different gender issues through watching and discussing movies. The course is conducted by the teacher with a brief explanation, and then watching the film in a focused manner to understand the plot and connotation of the film; secondly, group discussions on the designed issues, and each group will submit an oral or written report; and finally, The focus of the discussion was expanded to related gender issues. The course content includes themes such as stereotypes of men and women workplaces, self-awareness and reflections of men and women, self-fulfillment and dreams of men and women, etc., so that students can gain multi-level interest in watching movies, and be able to think deeply about various gender issues and enhance students' humanities and society. 3. Self-awareness (Reference movie: Hidden Figures、Mona Lisa Smile)
4. Self-completion and dreams (Reference movie: English Vinglish, Dangal/Wrestling competition)
5. Group design and share movie films on gender issues.
