課程宗旨

臺灣是個開放的島嶼，在開發過程中具有長期移民的特性，同時累積了豐富多元的文化傳統與生活慣習。這一套與日常生活相關的習俗與信仰，或許並不明顯存在於官方所主導的教育素材中，但卻能繼續不斷地的對人們的日常生活實作（practice）產生重大影響。本課程將著重臺灣社會的開發過程與移民結構，以及伴隨而生的不同信仰與民俗，期能使同學更加理解我們所生長的臺灣社會，並培養出多元社會所應有的包容特性。

the formation of rich and diverse cultural traditions, everyday practices, customs, and belief systems. Although such customs and beliefs, which are closely embedded in daily life, may not always be prominently represented in officially developed educational materials, they continue to play a significant role in shaping people’s lived experiences and social practices.

This course examines the historical development of Taiwanese society and its migration structures, with particular attention to the diverse religious beliefs, folk traditions, and cultural practices that have emerged in this context. Through this course, students are expected to develop a deeper understanding of the society in which they live, while cultivating the openness, tolerance, and inclusiveness essential to participation in a pluralistic society.

課程大綱

一、臺灣社會的開發與族群關係：探討臺灣社會各族群在開發過程中的互動與衝突，其中包含重大的分類械鬥與動亂。

二、臺灣社會中的重要節俗與祭祀活動：針對台灣各地的節俗如媽祖遶境、中元普度、燒王船等，探討其由來及內蘊的意義。

三、臺灣社會中的民間信仰：討論民間信仰的定義與影響，並探討主要信仰神明（如媽祖、王爺、玄天上帝及城隍信仰等）的由來及神聖根源。

四、臺灣民間信仰與日常生活的關聯：從生活文化空間的涵義開始談起，探討台灣社會中無所不在的信仰習俗，及其對大眾日常生活的可能影響。
