TCG105 幸福心理學

 

課程宗旨

Over the past two decades has emerged a new field within psychology that focuses on wellness and optimal living. Positive Psychology focuses on concepts such as mindfulness, character strength and virtues, happiness and purpose of life, compassion, fulfillment, well-being and resilience, and serve as outcomes for Positive Psychotherapies. This course provides an introduction to the study of topics related to happiness and the positive aspects of human experience – things that make life most worth living. This course will review the core concepts, topics, research, basic interventions, and real-world applications of positive psychology. This course will cover issues relevant to all as well as issues primarily relevant to high-achieving young adults.

Week 1 (Feb 23) – Introduction to Positive Psychology.

Week 2 (March 1) – Positive Emotions, Character Strengths, and Virtues.

Week 3 (March 8) – The Meaning and Measure of Happiness: Why Are Some People Happier Than Others?

Week 4 (March 15) – Money, Happiness, and Culture.

Week 5 (March 22) – Close Relationships, Marriage, and Happiness.

Week 6 (March 29) – No Class – Sports Day 校慶運動會

Week 7 (April 5) – No Class – National Holiday.

Week 8 (April 12) – MIDTERM EXAM.

Week 9 (April 19) - Gratitude, Empathy, and Forgiveness.

Week 10 (April 26) – Positive Health.

Week 11 (May 3) - Positive Aging.

Week 12 (May 10) - Resilience and Post-Traumatic Growth.

Week 13 (May 17) - Positive Workplaces and Positive Education.

Week 14 (May 24) – Positive Psychology in Practice: Positive Psychotherapy.

Week 15 (May 31) – Increasing Happiness.

Week 16 (June 7) – FINAL EXAM.
