Lecture Overview

Taipower Cultural & Creative represents Taiwan Power Company's commitment to environmental sustainability through a circular economy. By collecting by-products, discarded equipment, and recyclable materials from the power generation process, and putting them through research, experimentation, and refined design procedures, these materials re-enter the manufacturing cycle. The resulting products are designed to reach into every household's daily life and awaken consumers' shared sense of environmental awareness. All Taipower Cultural & Creative merchandise is grounded in circular economy materials recovered from the power industry. Through deconstruction and reassembly, these materials are given new life. One approach involves repurposing the glass covers of retired electricity meters: through low-temperature heating, the glass gradually softens and naturally collapses into a trophy for skills competitions — one that carries the history of its years of service, while retaining the distinctive form and structural details of the original meter glass.
