課程宗旨

本課程以歐洲城市為例，旨在對歐洲城市文化的獨特特徵進行廣泛的調查和了解。透過與台灣的情況進行比較，學生將了解其城市發展的社會文化方面的因素 與歐洲（和全球）城市目前所面臨的挑戰。我們將探討城市空間和生活方式的演變，社區組織縉紳化 與社區重建如何影響城市居民的生活品量。(課程以英語授課) Using a variety of European cities as illustrative examples, the course aims to give a broad survey and understanding of the distinctive characteristics of urban culture in Europe. Through comparison with the situation in Taiwan, students will gain an understanding of socio-cultural aspects of urban development, and of the challenges that cities in Europe (and in the world) are facing today. We will explore the transformation of urban space and urban life styles, and how community organization, gentrification and urban renewal can impact the quality of life of urban residents. The course will be taught in English.
