More than the featherweight: Our Priceless SOCIAL PRACTICE Regulations

  1. Organizer

The content could following the directions provided in Attachment 1 of the application form. Submissions will be evaluated by specialists in English.

  1. Eligibility:

Students of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (new graduates are welcome as well). Participants must have an identity certificate issued by Taiwan government, such as National Identification Card, Resident Permit or Passport etc.

  1. Application Description:
  1. Applicants are required to upload and Appendix 2: “Essay Form”.
  2. Appendix 1 “Registration Form” Please sign the paper authorization form  and submit it to the General Education Center (IA - 505 - 1).
  3. Please follow the format of Appendix 2 “Essay Form” to complete the work. If you fail to comply with the format, the organizer will deduct marks at its discretion.

     
  1. Deadline for Submission:

Starting from now until 23:59 on 9/2, 2024.

  1. Format
  • Word limitation for English is 1300-2000 words.

  1. Evaluation Criteria

  • Content (50%): quality of content, techniques of expression..
  • Writing style (40%)fluency, effective word choices, use of rhetorical devices etc.
  • Format (10%)follow the writingformat explane in the form.

  1. Rewards
  • First 50 submission rewards:

For the first 50 participants who submit the entries, they will receive vouches worth about NT$100 each.

  1. Participation Further Regulations
  • If the essay do not meet the award criteria, it will be disqualified.
  • The choices of courses for the content are limited to the general education courses of Taiwan University of Science and Technology (the course code is GE or the third code G).
  • Students must have taken the required general education course to write the course review, whereas semester must be indicated and transcripts must be provided when submitting the entries.
  • If the selected entries involve fraudulent use, forgery, plagiarism, or being reported as winners in other competitions, they will be disqualified after verification. If the award has been received, the organizer may recover the original award and bonus.
  • The intellectual property rights and copyright of the selected entries will be transferred to the organizer from the date of shortlist announcement. The organizer shall exercise the rights of reproduction, alteration, distribution, public display, publication and related rights in accordance with the Copyright Law without additional remuneration.
  • According to the tax law of the Republic of China, the annual tax return must be included in the individual income if the amount equals or exceeds NT$1,000.
  • For winners (individuals) who are non-resident of the Republic of China, 20% of the total income from contests and games and from prizes and awards won by chance will be deducted according to the law.
  • The organizer reserves the right to change, explain, modify or terminate the event.
  • By submitting an entry in the competition, the participants agree to be bound by all the terms and conditions of the document.
